Why You Need a Suitable Mattress for Adjustable Beds
We hear this question frequently and we understand why. You might want the benefits of adjustability but are still attached to your old mattress. Or, you might be trying to save a few dollars by only buying the bed base and using your current mattress for a little while longer.
Ever heard of the old saying “penny wise and pound foolish?” Sure, traditional flat bed mattresses do bend. We’ve all moved them up stairwells and around corners and have seen them bend when pushed. But they’re not designed for years of repetitive bending in the same spots. Using a traditional flat bed mattress on an adjustable bed base will quickly cause it to break down and it won’t be long before you’re sleeping poorly during the night and waking stiff and sore in the morning.
So the answer is no, you cannot use a flat bed mattress on an adjustable bed. An adjustable bed base needs a mattress specially constructed for years of adjustability.
